Wonder Works Thanks Heaven for Harper!
All this week, we invite you to help us “Thank Heaven for Harper” as we celebrate the life of Harper Drolet, a wonderful little girl who taught us how to appreciate every moment of our lives. To join in this tribute, please visit our Facebook page to share how you were touched by Harper. Christine Osborne, owner of Wonder Works, says that thanks to Harper, “MAGIC HAPPENED!”
It is not often that one meets a child with a twinkle in her eye and the “can do it” attitude, where “nothing is impossible.” I was lucky enough to meet such an individual…and her name was Harper Drolet. Not only did she BELIEVE…but HARPER BELIEVED BIG! Her idea was to get thousands of toys, not hundreds for MUSC’s Happy Wheels Program and thousands we got….to the tune of 10,000 TOYS! She not only got the community rallying around her, but an entire toy industry….how is that for the power of ONE child…only 10 years old, but 100 years of wisdom and HEART! She made everyone a better person for just participating in one of her ideas!…for that …I say…THANK HEAVEN for HARPER!
Visit our Facebook page to share how you thank heaven for Harper. Harper, we love you and miss you! Thank you for touching our lives!
Wonder Works Celebrates the Life of Harper Drolet
On Friday, we received news that we lost a magical little girl in our community. Harper Drolet, who has been a constant inspiration to the entire Wonder Works and Charleston community for her courage, grace and selflessness, lost her long battle with cancer.
Harper brought so much to our lives and affected so many, and our hearts are heavy with this enormous loss. With Harper’s lead, last December we donated 7,000 toys to MUSC Children’s Hospital Happy Wheels cart through our Week of Wonder and Facebook toy FunRaiser. Happy Wheels had been facing the threat of shutting down unless its toy donations drastically increased, and the ever generous Harper, then a patient at the hospital, came to us to see how we could help. Our Facebook Toy FunRaiser was such an amazing success that we have continued it through this year, giving a child a toy for every new fan who likes our Facebook page. Harper truly brought blessings to us and to all the wonderful children we have been able to reach out to thanks to her.
Giving back was such a passion of Harper’s, and we hope that we can continue to spread her love and magic through what we do and how we live. Through her family and the many, many people she touched, Harper’s spirit lives on.
We will continue to sell bumper stickers and bracelets that benefit Harper’s family and legacy. If you would like to place an order, please give us a call at 877-841-6757.
